Women Reform Organization is a Pan-African, Humanitarian Organization with the social corporate responsibility of creating awareness, enlightenment, and regenerating the giant strides inherent in African Women, through campaigns, empowerment programmes, and advocacy for qualitative education, vocational training & mentorship. 

  • We are also interested in creating a platform of business opportunities for Female Entrepreneurs, with the sole objective of sharpening their entrepreneurship skills aimed at eradicating the penury lifestyle among African Women.

Job Title: Volunteer Media and Public Relation Officer

About the Role

The Women Reform Organization (WRO) is seeking a passionate and proactive Volunteer Media & Public Relations Officer to help shape the public voice of our organization. 

  • This remote role is perfect for someone with strong communication skills and a drive for social impact. 
  • You will help amplify our work through press, social media, and digital engagement.
  • After 2 months of dedicated service and performance evaluation, this volunteer role transitions into a permanent staff position. 

WRO will cover data usage throughout the volunteer period.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute public relations and media strategies that raise awareness of WRO’s programs.

Draft and distribute press releases, newsletters, media kits, and official communication.

  • Manage and grow WRO’s social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X).
  • Monitor and report media coverage, social engagement, and campaign performance.
  • Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, and digital influencers.
  • Create content for digital platforms including videos, blogs, and event promotions.
  • Support the promotion of WRO initiatives such as the 7-Day Sleep-Out campaign and Women’s Empowerment Events.

What We’re Looking For

Excellent writing, speaking, and storytelling skills.

Experience managing social media or digital platforms (even as a volunteer or intern).

  • Familiarity with media relations or public outreach.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • A team player with a passion for women and youth empowerment.
  • Degree or experience in PR, Communications, Journalism, or related field is a plus.
