FG Announces to Recruit 30,150 And Above in Immigration, Fire, Civil Defence, Correctional Services

A New internal memo reportedly circulating online, it suggests that the "Federal Government of Nigeria" are soon to begin a massive recruitment exercise across the four major paramilitary agencies.

  • Though unconfirmed, the document appears to be from the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), dated 3rd June, 2025.
  • According to the memo signed by the Maj. Gen (Rtd.) AM Jibril, Secretary of the CDCFIB, President Bola Tinubu has given approval for the recruitment of 30,150 personnel.

The memo reads, “I refer to Mr. President’s approval for the recruitment of 30,150 personnel in the four (4) Services under the purview of the Board… as well as the recruitment of 209 personnel for the Board Secretariat.”

The breakdown is as follows:

  • 1.Nigerian Correctional Service (5,150),
  • 2. Nigeria Immigration Service (10,000),
  • 3. Federal Fire Service (5,000),

4. Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (10,000), and the CDCFIB Secretariat (209).

To speed up the process, the Board is also seeking approval to shorten the newspaper advertisement period from six weeks to three.

  • “The Board is seeking waiver for advert placement in the national dailies to run for a period of three (3) weeks as against the statutory six (6) weeks required by law,” the memo states.

Also included in the circular is a financial clearance from the Budget Office of the Federation, which could signal a green light for funding this exercise - making it one of the biggest federal recruitment plans in recent years.
