What is the Kickstart Entrepreneurship Programme about?
Kickstart is an initiative of the International Breweries Foundation with a focus on enterprise growth and development for young entrepreneurs.
The programme supports youth-owned businesses through the provision of training, access to capital (grants), and mentoring.
Can I apply for this programme?
- Yes, if you are a Nigerian between the ages of 18 – 35 years with a viable business or business idea.
Is it compulsory for my business to be registered?
You do not require a registered business to complete the application. However, to access the grant if awarded to you, your business must be registered.
Is there a restriction on the age of my business?
- Yes. All businesses or ideas must be at an early stage within the range of 0 to 3 years.
What are the target business focus areas?
- Agriculture - (Maize, Rice, and Sorghum value chain and others)
- Retailing (Unique small-scale sales model for International Breweries Plc. Products)
- Others (Circular economy e.g. Recycling, Renewable Energy, etc.)
Can I apply if my business focus area is not mentioned?
- Yes, you can apply under the others category. However, priority is placed on the business focus areas mentioned.
- I am in agriculture but not in the area of maize, rice and sorghum, can I still apply?
- Yes, you can apply. However, priority is placed on businesses within maize, rice and sorghum value chain.
What does retailing involve?
- These are businesses who intend to sell the various products of International Breweries PLC on a small scale and currently have an innovative distribution and sales strategy.
Can I apply offline?

Are there any fees for applying or any other associated costs?
- There are no fees required to register. Registration for Kickstart is FREE.
Is there an age limit for prospective applicants?
- Yes, you must not be above 35 years.
How to apply
To participate in the Kickstart programme, prospective awardees are required to fill out and submit an application form.
To be considered for shortlisting, applicants are required to meet the following criteria:
Age: 18 to 35 years.
Communication: English language (reading, writing, and speaking skills).
Location: Reside in and have their business operations in Nigeria Business Areas:
- Agriculture (Rice Farming, Maize Farming, Sorghum Farming)
- Retailing (Retail of International Breweries Product)
- Circular Packaging
- Renewable Energy
- Others
Businesses must be within 0 – 3 years.
Deadline for Application submission: Friday, June 20th, 2025.
