Food Health Systems Advisory (FHSA) is a leading management consulting and business advisory firm on a mission to solve Africa’s most pressing food systems challenges through consulting, technical services, and research in partnership with the private sector, governments, and development partners. 

  • We provide technical services (business and finance support, food safety, packaging, process engineering, product development, quality control etc.) to food enterprises, enabling them to deliver safe, nutritious, affordable, and sustainable food.
  • Food Health Systems Advisory (FHSA) is implementing the Advancing Nutrition Through Female-Led Processing (ANTFem) Project - a donor-funded, multi-year, gender-responsive initiative that supports female-led food businesses to enhance capacity, increase revenue, and expand access to safe, affordable, and nutritious foods for low-income consumers (LICs).

Currently, the project supports over 130 female-led businesses (including 100 microbusinesses across 10 clusters and 33 SMEs) with targeted assistance in market access, finance, supply chains, technology, digital tools, mentoring, and community building.

We are now seeking to partner with additional SMEs and clusters focusing on the following value chains: 

  • Dried Tomato, Dried Okra, Dried/Smoked Fish, Yoghurt, and Fura-da-nono across Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Anambra, and Kaduna States. 
  • You can apply either as an SME or cluster

Eligibility Criteria 

For SMEs - A female-led food processing business operating independently with an annual turnover of ₦10 million and above 

Active Processing: Engage in regular production activities within one of the listed value chains. 

Female Leadership: The business must be female-owned or female-led. 

  • Dedicated Production Site: Operates from a stable and consistent production location. 
  • Record Keeping: Maintains basic financial and operational records. 
  • Business Registration: Must have at least one of the following – SMEDAN or CAC registration. 
  • Target Market: Must be willing to serve Low-Income Consumers (LICs). 
  • Annual Revenue: Have a verified annual turnover of ₦10,000,000 and above.

Eligibility Criteria 

For Clusters - A group of 10 female-led micro food businesses within the same geographical location and value chain, under female leadership 

Cluster Composition: Must comprise of 10 female-led food processing businesses. 

Female Leadership: The cluster must be female-led. 

Active Processing: Members must be engaged in regular production within one of the listed value chains. 

  • Dedicated Production Sites: Each cluster operates from a consistent and identifiable production site. 
  • Record Keeping: Basic financial and operational records are maintained at cluster and member levels. 
  • Business Registration: The cluster must have at least one of the following – SMEDAN or CAC registration. 
  • Target Market: Must be willing to serve Low-Income Consumers (LICs). 

Annual Revenue: Have an annual turnover between ₦5,000,000 and ₦10,000,000 with verifiable evidence.
