Job Title: Training Facilitator - Peacebuilding & Gender Based Violence (Inter-Gererational Conversation)

Project Background
Bincike International is implementing the FCDO-funded EMPOWER project, which aims to strengthen peace, resilience, and economic opportunities for conflict-affected communities, particularly vulnerable women and adolescent girls.
- This role is critical for ensuring that empowerment activities are underpinned by a strong foundation of safety, protection, and community peace.
Role Summary
The Training Facilitator will be responsible for delivering interactive and culturally sensitive training sessions on peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) awareness to conflict-affected women and adolescent girls.
- The Facilitator will use the project’s approved, low-literacy training manual (including infographics and scenario-based modules) and work directly with the newly established Inter-Generational Conversation Groups (IGCGs).
Key Responsibilities
Training Delivery:
Deliver high-quality, engaging training sessions based on the approved EMPOWER curriculum on topics including: non-violent conflict resolution, community dialogue, GBV prevention, sexual and reproductive health (SRH) awareness, and protection mechanisms.
- Ensure training methods are participatory, utilising group discussions, role-playing, and scenario-based learning to meet the needs of low-literacy participants.
Qualifications and Experience
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of demonstrable experience in training or facilitation roles, ideally with NGOs or development agencies in northern Nigeria.
Sector Expertise:
- Proven knowledge and practical experience in peacebuilding, conflict-sensitivity, and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) programming.
- Experience working with vulnerable populations, particularly women and adolescent girls, is mandatory.
Communication:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in Hausa and proficiency in English.
Soft Skills:
- Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental approach when dealing with sensitive issues.
Local Knowledge:
- Deep familiarity with the local culture, customs, and context of Kaduna and/or Katsina States.
Desirable Attributes:
Previous experience working with low-literacy audiences and utilising visual and hands-on teaching methodologies.
- Familiarity with the operations of FCDO-funded projects or other major international donors.
- Certification or specialised training in trauma-informed care or basic psychosocial support.
