AboutTaimako Community Development Initiative (TCDI) is a frontline national non-governmental organization with over ten years of experience providing humanitarian and development services in Bauchi, Borno, Yobe, Kano, and Sokoto States. 

• Established in 2008 and registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in 2014, TCDI partners with government institutions, local and international NGOs, and UN agencies to improve the lives of vulnerable populations in rural and urban communities.
• Currently, in partnership with the World Food Programme (WFP), TCDI invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of Field Enumerator before 17th October 2025.

Position Overview

The Field Enumerator will work under the supervision of the SCOPE Officer to conduct household censuses, SCOPE biometric registrations, and provide support during field activities. 

• This includes data collection, crowd management, and selecting vulnerable beneficiaries in target communities. 
• The Field Enumerator is responsible for collecting accurate field data during targeting and TCDI/WFP SCOPE registration processes. 
• The role requires direct interaction with beneficiaries and ensures the quality and integrity of biometric registration and data accuracy.

Roles and Key Responsibilities

Work under the supervision of the SCOPE Officer using mobile devices for field data collection as recommended by TCDI.

• Attend all training sessions, including orientation on mobile devices and digital tools for beneficiary registration.
• Identify, document, and promptly report challenges encountered during data collection.
• Accurately record responses using approved tools provided by TCDI/WFP and upload completed data to the ODK/SCOPE database. Provide daily progress updates.
• Adhere to all guidelines and protocols for beneficiary registration and data management.
• Ensure proper handling, security, and accountability of assigned mobile devices and equipment.

Support the SCOPE registration team in managing the enumeration schedule and itinerary effectively.

Responsibilities

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and manage time effectively.

Proficient in digital data collection tools such as ODK, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.

• Familiarity with Android tablets.
• Strong listening and communication skills, with the ability to understand beneficiaries and ask relevant follow-up questions.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team.
• Ability to collect accurate information through observation, interaction, and verification.
• Familiarity with the target community or locality is an advantage.
• Possession of a valid form of identification.
• Ability to communicate in local languages such as Kanuri, Fulfulde, and Hausa.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum of OND, ND, or NCE in Information and Communication Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Sociology, or related fields.

• HND or B.Sc. degree is an added advantage.
• At least one year of experience in data collection with a recognized NGO, preferably in the Northeast region of Nigeria.
• Experience working in Yusufari or Fune LGAs is a strong advantage.
