Position: Operations & Development Manager
Reports to: Executive Director
Location: Abuja FCT
Employment Type: Full-time
Duration: One year (with possibility of extension)
Salary: N500, 000 to N600, 000 depending on the level of experience
Role Overview
The Operations and Development Manager is responsible for overseeing organizational operations, strengthening internal systems, and supporting business department in resource mobilization efforts.
- The role ensures that DEVATOP’s programs are supported with effective operations, compliance, and sustainable partnerships.
- The manager leads in developing strategies for institutional growth, external engagement, and overall organizational development.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
Oversee day-to-day organizational operations, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
Develop, update, and enforce operational policies, procedures, and systems.
- Supervise administrative, finance, ICT, and program support functions.
- Ensure compliance with donor, legal, and regulatory requirements.
- Strengthen organizational performance through effective planning, reporting, and accountability mechanisms.
- Support the management of human resources, including recruitment, staff welfare, and performance management.
Organizational Development & Strategy
Support the Executive Director in implementing DEVATOP’s strategic plan.
Lead organizational capacity-building initiatives.
- Identify gaps in systems, tools, and structures, and propose improvements.
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and teamwork.
- Ensure organizational policies and governance structures remain up-to-date and relevant.
Resource Mobilization & Partnerships
- Support Business Development Unit in implementing a comprehensive resource mobilization strategy.
- Support proposal writing, grant applications, and reporting
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Business Administration, Management, or related fields (Master’s preferred).
At least 7 years of relevant experience in operations, organizational development, grant writing, or NGO management.
- Strong knowledge of NGO operations, compliance, and governance.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- High level of integrity, accountability, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools, MS Office, and CRM/grant management systems.
