Job Title: Finance Assistant
Section: Finance
Duration: 6 months
Duty Station: Adamawa state (With frequent travels across the area of operations)
Reports to: Finance Officer
Start Date: immediately
Purpose of Assignment:
The Finance Assistant supports the day-to-day financial operations of the organization by processing transactions, maintaining financial records, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and donor regulations.
- This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate bookkeeping, timely payments, and effective financial reporting to support program implementation.
Major duties & responsibilities:
Process payments, invoices, and staff reimbursements in accordance with financial procedures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
- Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and reconciliations.
Support cash and bank management, including deposits and withdrawals.
- Monitor petty cash usage and ensure proper documentation.
- Assist with audits by providing necessary financial documents and explanations.
- Ensure compliance with donor and organizational financial policies.
- Support procurement and logistics teams with financial documentation and payment processing.

Qualification & Competencies

Education & Other Skill:
- B.SC Accounting or other relevant disciplines
Work Experience:
Four years of professional work experience in planning, programming, implementation monitoring and evaluation of Nutrition project/program.
- Professional work experience in a project/program management function or a technical expert capacity in health or Nutrition care.
- Background/familiarity with Emergency.
- Excellent communications skills, both oral and written
- Extremely flexible, and have the ability to cope with stressful situations and frustrations.
- Strong writing and presentation skills.
- Proven capabilities in leadership required.
Language Proficiency:
Fluency in English and local working language of the duty station will be an asset.
