International Professional Development Program

The ASR Africa International Professional Development Program is targeted at young people in the country.

  • This highly competitive placement program comprised of internship and volunteer programs to enhance young people’s effective participation in the development sector. 
  • The program is structured to include intentional learning objectives, guided supervision by the ASR Africa specialist, continuous observation, evaluation and feedback targeted at the growth of the beneficiaries.

Special learning outcomes include amongst others, knowledge in Project Management such as needs assessment and prioritization matrix, design thinking for innovative problem solving, stakeholders and partnership mapping, project design, sustainability planning, gender audit, Monitoring and Evaluation planning and an understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

  • The program which was is run under the Social Development Component of ASR Africa further advanced the commitment of the Chairman of ASR Africa and BUA group in making lasting impact in Education by equipping the next generation of Africans, to find solutions to African problems. 

Beneficiaries of the program will gain valuable and real-world experiences to advance their personal career goals while also uplifting and restoring the dignity and lives of Africans through social impact programs.

Guidelines For The ASR africa international Professional Development Program For Interns & Volunteers

Online Applications will be submitted on the ASR Africa website.

  • Online Application for the February to May 2026 Edition will commence from 30th January to 4th February, 2026.
  • Only 4 shortlisted applicants will be contacted for the program.

The duration of the volunteer program will be 3 months from 9th February, 2026 to 9th May, 2026. Please note that poor performing volunteers or interns will be dropped along the way.

  • All interns must show their expectation analysis at the point of registration and how that translates into their future ambition
  • Beneficiaries of the program will enjoy job rotation across all the departments. 
  • This will be guided by clearly defined schedules and curriculum. 
  • Specialists will take them on specific topics within the period.

At the end of the program, all interns/volunteers must be able to identify a grant application and apply for it

  • All interns will need to make PowerPoint presentations of their assignments at the end of every week.
  • The 3 months Professional Development program will take place in ASR Africa office in Abuja, Nigeria.
  • Successful Candidates must have a secured accommodation for the said period. 
  • A monthly Transport allowance will be payable to each of the interns.
