Concern for Women and Children Development Foundation (COWACDI) is a women-led organization born out of passion for the wellbeing of Women and Children in Nigeria. It has a special interest in mitigating the suffering of the vulnerable persons (mostly Women & Children) in times of crisis. 

Currently the organization has focused its attention on the Northeast of Nigeria with special emphasis in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states (BAY states) due to the decade old crises. 

  • COWACDI intervenes through community-based approach in addressing humanitarian and development needs since its establishment in 1998, these include in Protection, Peace Building, Housing Land & Property (HLP), Non- food Items (NFI), Livelihood, WASH, Nutrition, Livelihood, amongst others. 
  • These interventions have directly benefited thousands of children, women, men, girls and boys of all groups. 

Determined to expand her interventions to reach more vulnerable people in conflict affected regions. 

  • COWACDI operates with full respect to humanitarian laws, concrete policies and principles of international standard such as humanity, Do no harm, impartiality, neutrality, independency and accountability to affected population and zero Tolerance to Fraud and related activities.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Qualification: BSc/HND/ND/NCE

Location: Chikila, Banjiram, Dukul, Guyuk, & Bobini, Guyuk LGA, Adamawa State.

Contract Duration: 12 Months (The Casual Worker shall only provide services when called upon by the Organization within this period).

Roles

The Casual Staff will support field-level implementation of the POWER Project by assisting in community mobilization, data collection, and basic sensitization activities related to women’s economic empowerment and VSLA formation. 

  • The role will contribute to timely and accurate field outputs in line with project objectives and reporting requirements.

Responsibilities:

Mobilize community members, particularly women and adolescent girls, for project activities and meetings.

Assist in identifying and registering VSLA members.

  • Facilitate community entry and liaise with community leaders and focal persons.
  • Administer questionnaires and ensure completeness and accuracy of responses.
  • Support documentation of attendance, meeting minutes, and field observations.
  • Adhere strictly to safeguarding, PSEA, and data protection protocols.
  • Submit completed tools and daily activity reports to the supervisor.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Resident in or familiar with the Chikila, Banjiram, Guyuk, Dukul and Bobini project area.
  • Available for the full duration of the assignment (Based on call).
  • Willing to comply with COWACDI safeguarding, child protection, and PSEA policies.
  • No prior record of misconduct or safeguarding violations.

Educational Qualification & Experience - Requirements

  • Minimum of a National Diploma (ND), NCE, or Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Agriculture, or relevant fields.
  • Previous experience in data collection (baseline surveys, registration) with NGOs/INGOs using ODK, Kobo Collect, or Survey CTO.

Language: Fluency in English and Hausa is mandatory. Knowledge of local languages specific to Guyuk (e.g., Lunguda, Waja) is a strong asset.

Local Knowledge: Residents of Guyuk LGA or individuals with extensive knowledge of the terrain and community dynamics are preferred.

Technology: Must possess a functional Android smartphone (Android 10+)

Language required:

  • Fluency in oral and written English is required. Hausa and Native Language of the area would be an added advantage.
