Location: Nationwide – Hybrid (80% Virtual / 20% In-Person Field Visits)

Speed Relief Humanitarian Organization (SRHO) is currently expanding its professional volunteer network and invites applications for the position of Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Officer. 

  • This role is critical in ensuring that the organization’s humanitarian and recovery programs remain evidence-based, transparent, and driven by continuous learning.
  • The MEL Officer will play a pivotal role in strengthening organizational accountability to both donors and affected populations. 
  • By managing data quality, tracking performance metrics, and developing learning products, the successful candidate will directly contribute to the effectiveness and sustainability of SRHO’s interventions.

Key Responsibilities

The MEL Officer will be responsible for the following core functions:

Framework Development: Support the design and implementation of MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning) frameworks, logic models, and performance indicators.

  • Data Management: Facilitate systematic data collection, analysis, and visualization to provide real-time insights into program progress.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct data quality audits and field verifications to ensure the integrity of reported information.
  • Reporting and Learning: Contribute to the development of learning briefs, program dashboards, and comprehensive donor reports that highlight impact and areas for improvement.

Adaptive Management: Assist program teams in utilizing data for adaptive management, ensuring that lessons learned are integrated into future project cycles.

Engagement Modality

  • This is a hybrid volunteer engagement designed to balance technical remote support with localized field presence:

80% Virtual: Focusing on remote technical support, data analysis, reporting, and virtual learning sessions.

20% In-Person: Involving direct field monitoring, community-level verification, and on-site learning reviews.

Required Profile

SRHO is seeking a committed professional who possesses:

A background in Social Sciences, Statistics, International Development, or a related field.

  • Prior experience or a strong interest in Monitoring and Evaluation within the humanitarian or NGO sector.
  • Proficiency in data collection tools (such as KoboToolbox, ODK) and data visualization software.
  • Strong analytical writing skills and the ability to communicate complex data clearly.
  • A passion for locally-led humanitarian action and accountability.
