National Consultant- Immunization Programme Monitoring & Evaluation at UNICEF

National Consultant- Immunization Programme Monitoring & Evaluation at UNICEF

Background

Across Africa, millions of children remain unprotected from vaccine-preventable diseases; nearly one in four zero-dose children lives in just a few high-burden countries.

  • Nigeria has the highest burden of zero-dose and under-vaccinated children, and the country is facing its consequences through recurrent outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases.
  • UNICEF is uniquely positioned to lead this initiative due to its long-standing mandate, operational reach, and technical capacities in immunization across Africa.
  • To complement Nigeria’s efforts to reduce zero-dose children, UNICEF is committed to and partnering with the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) towards advancing child survival and health security.
