A professional research organization in Nigeria is inviting applications from experienced and detail-oriented individuals to join its network of Data Collectors and Interviewers. 

• The role is designed for candidates who are passionate about field research, data accuracy, and delivering high-quality insights that support evidence-based decision-making across social, development, and public affairs projects.

The engagement is project-based and will involve working on different assignments depending on organizational needs. 

Successful candidates will support data collection activities across various locations in Nigeria, contributing to research studies that inform policies, programs, and development interventions.

Position Overview

The Data Collector / Interviewer will be responsible for the administration of surveys, conducting structured interviews, and accurately capturing responses from respondents in line with project guidelines. 

• The role requires a high level of attention to detail, professionalism in engaging respondents, and strict adherence to ethical standards in research and data protection protocols.
• The position reports directly to the Field Supervisor or National Field Coordinator (NFC), depending on the assignment structure. 
• The role is classified as a contract-based, project engagement and does not constitute full-time permanent employment.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidates will be responsible for carrying out the following duties:

• They will conduct face-to-face or digital interviews using structured questionnaires, ensuring that all questions are asked clearly and responses are accurately recorded. 
• They will administer surveys using paper-based tools or electronic data collection devices such as smartphones or tablets, depending on project requirements.
• They will ensure that all collected data is complete, accurate, and consistent with the survey instruments provided. 
• Interviewers are expected to carefully follow all instructions, protocols, and guidelines provided during training sessions before field deployment.
• They will engage respondents respectfully and professionally, ensuring that participation is voluntary and that respondents fully understand the purpose of the research before consenting to participate. 
• They must uphold ethical research standards at all times.
• They will ensure timely submission of completed questionnaires or digital entries according to project deadlines. 

Interviewers are also expected to maintain clear communication with field supervisors and report progress updates regularly.

Requirements and Qualifications

Applicants are expected to possess a minimum of OND, HND, or Bachelor’s degree in any relevant field. 

• Candidates with backgrounds in social sciences, public affairs, statistics, development studies, or related disciplines are particularly encouraged to apply.
• Previous experience in data collection, survey administration, or field research is highly desirable. 
• Experience working on ACRE projects, social research studies, or similar assignments will be considered a strong advantage.
• Applicants must demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse respondents in a professional manner. 
• They must also show integrity, reliability, and a commitment to producing accurate and unbiased data.
