• ABUJA, NIGERIA - The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially commenced a high-level Training-of-Trainers (ToT) workshop at The Electoral Institute (TEI).

During the workshop held on Monday, March 30, 2026, Professor Kunle Ajayi, Chairman of the Board of The Electoral Institute, emphasized that a credible voter register is the bedrock of any transparent election.

Operational Scope and Objectives

The ToT program is designed to equip Master Trainers and specialized staff from the Voter Registry and ICT Departments with the technical competence required for a massive cascade training. 

These trainers will eventually prepare thousands of Registration Officials who will operate across all parts of Nigeria—just one aspect of INEC updates for the 2027 elections.
