Overview

The United Nations Development Programme is inviting applications for a global internship focused on digital transformation artificial intelligence and innovation.

• The organization operates in over 170 countries addressing major global challenges including poverty climate change governance and sustainable development.
• This internship sits within the Digital AI and Innovation Hub which supports countries in building inclusive digital systems data strategies and innovative solutions. 
• The programme emphasizes the role of digital technologies and AI in accelerating development outcomes.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until the end of September 2026. Start dates are flexible and based on organizational needs.

Key Responsibilities

Systems Transformation and Innovation

Conduct research on innovation systems and emerging policy trends

• Support development and testing of new policy and programme approaches
• Contribute to knowledge sharing and thought leadership
• Programme Delivery and Capacity Building
• Assist in implementing digital and AI initiatives
• Develop training and capacity building materials
• Support coordination of national digital strategies
• Organize webinars and learning sessions

Requirements

• Candidates must meet one of the following
• Currently enrolled in a graduate programme
• In final year of undergraduate studies
• Recently graduated and able to start within one year
• Interest or experience in digital AI data or innovation is an advantage
