SMACON was born during a four-day hike of the spectacular Afi Mountains Wildlife Sanctuary by our founders in 2016.
- Although a protected area, not all animals received equal protection at Afi.
- On the ground conservation efforts focused on megafauna to the exclusion of other species.
Job Description and Responsibilities
- Supervise Forest Guardians and Data Technicians in Boki
- Supervise field-based alternative livelihood teams
- Conduct supervised field surveys and
- Collect monitoring and evaluation data
- Facilitate community engagement and education efforts
Reports to:
- Programs Managers
Qualifications and Experience
- A degree in Zoology, Biological Sciences, and other related disciplines
- Proper business English, punctuation, spelling, and grammatical usage.
- Ability to lead a team.
- Dynamic and able to quickly learn new skills.
- Must reside in Cross River State, and be ready to spend extensive time in the field (Afi Mountain and Cross River National Park)
