Job Title: 

• Field Implementation Support Officer (FISO) – Smiles for Mothers (SfM) Program

Location: 

• Bauchi, Jigawa, Kano, Katsina & Yobe

Client Overview:

Our client is implementing the Smiles for Mothers (SfM) Program, a maternal and newborn health initiative focused on improving health outcomes through evidence-based clinical interventions.

• The program supports the delivery of quality maternal and newborn healthcare by strengthening service delivery, monitoring program performance, building healthcare worker capacity, and improving data quality across supported health facilities.
• The Field Implementation Support Officer (FISO) will provide field-level technical support to ensure effective implementation of maternal and newborn health interventions.
• The role involves routine facility monitoring, data collection and analysis, supportive supervision, capacity building, stakeholder engagement, and tracking program performance to improve service delivery across supported facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct routine monitoring visits to health facilities to collect, verify, and report programme data, ensuring the quality and accuracy of maternal and newborn health information.

• Provide and on-the-job coaching supportive supervision to healthcare workers to strengthen clinical documentation, reporting, referral systems, and quality improvement practices.
• Engage and collaborate with health facility feams and state-level stakeholders to support effective programme implementation, performance monitoring, and service delivery

Requirements

BSc in Nursing, Midwifery, or another health-related discipline.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in health workforce development, preferably in maternal and newborn health programmes.
• Demonstrated experience in monitoring and evaluating health programmes, including data collection, analysis, reporting, and the use of digital data management tools.
• Strong understanding of maternal and newborn health interventions, including pharmacovigilance, referral systems, and HMIS
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and report writing skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office
