Global Village Healthcare Initiative for Africa (GHIV Africa) is a Non-governmental, Non-for profit humanitarian/Developmental organization which started in 2014.
Job Purpose:
The Gender and Disability Inclusion Specialist is responsible for ensuring that gender equality and disability inclusion principles are effectively integrated into all program activities within the Education Cannot Wait (ECW) initiative.
- This role focuses on promoting inclusive educational practices that address the unique needs of girls, women, and persons with disabilities.
- The Specialist will work collaboratively with program staff, community members, and stakeholders to create safe and supportive educational environments that foster equity and accessibility.
Location: Mobbar (Borno) but will be roving to Jakusko (Yobe State)
Reports To: Education Program Manager
Duration: 6 Months subject to renewal
Key Responsibilities:
Policy Development and Integration:
Develop and implement strategies to integrate gender and disability inclusion across all program components, ensuring alignment with national and international standards.
- Review and adapt existing policies, guidelines, and materials to enhance gender and disability responsiveness in program activities.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Gender Studies, Disability Studies, Law, Social Sciences, Education, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3years of experience in gender equality and disability inclusion, preferably in the education or humanitarian sector.
- Proven experience in implementing inclusive education programs and policies.
