Call Application Freelancers at BBC (Jigawa & Sokoto)


BBC Media Action is seeking qualified freelancers for an upcoming research activity to be implemented in Sokoto and Jigawa.

  • The activity is the pre-testing of a new radio programme.

The required roles and some of the responsibilities are:

  • Recruiters
  • Moderators
  • QC Supervisors

Recruiters

Key Responsibilities:

Use the provided screener to identify and recruit participants who meet study criteria.

  • Ensure participant quotas (e.g., gender, age, location, etc.) are met.
  • Contact, brief, and confirm participants ahead of scheduled sessions.
  • Maintain accurate recruitment records and participant contact details.
  • Coordinate with moderators and supervisors to ensure participant attendance.
  • Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards throughout the recruitment process.

Moderators

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct FGDs and IDIs in line with the approved discussion guide.

Create a comfortable and inclusive environment that encourages open participation.

  • Probe effectively to obtain detailed and relevant responses.
  • Ensure discussions remain focused on study objectives.
  • Obtain informed consent and maintain participant confidentiality.
  • Prepare and submit complete field notes and other required documentation.

QC Supervisors

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise recruiters and moderators during fieldwork.

Verify participant eligibility and recruitment quality.

  • Observe FGDs and IDIs to ensure adherence to research protocols.
  • Review field notes, recordings, and documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Monitor compliance with ethical standards, including consent procedures.
  • Provide real-time feedback and resolve field challenges as they arise.
  • Submit quality assurance reports and updates to the project team.
