About the Role
Working under the direct supervision of the Grants and Partnership Manager, the Deputy Grants Manager will support the effective management of donor grants and ensure compliance with contractual and reporting requirements.
- Première Urgence Internationale (PUI) Nigeria is recruiting a qualified and experienced professional for the position of Deputy Grants Manager in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory.
- PUI is an international humanitarian organisation providing emergency assistance and support to vulnerable populations affected by conflict, displacement, natural disasters and other crises.
- The organisation has been operating in Nigeria since 2016.

Responsibility:
The Deputy Grants Manager will:
Coordinate reporting processes from project launch through submission to donors.
- Ensure financial and narrative reports, including required annexes, are completed accurately and submitted within contractual deadlines.
- Coordinate reviews of reports with country and field teams and ensure donor comments and questions are properly addressed.
- Collect and consolidate information required for programme reporting.
- Ensure donor reporting templates comply with official requirements.
- Ensure field teams receive approved proposals, budgets, contracts and donor reports.
- Monitor compliance with donor guidelines and contractual obligations throughout project implementation.
- Review reports for accuracy, consistency, grammar, spelling, indicators and alignment with project objectives.
Requirements
Applicants should have:
A degree in Project Management, Political Science, International Development, Public Administration, Business, Social Sciences or another relevant field.
- Equivalent professional experience may also be considered.
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar position or in programme development, project management, donor reporting or grant compliance within an international NGO.
- Experience developing communication products such as articles and success stories.
- Excellent English writing and editing skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and database management software.
- Knowledge of Nigerian local languages such as Hausa, Kanuri or Fulfulde is an advantage.
