Call for Expression of Interest - Internship Programme for Africa (RAF)
Applications are open for the 2027 FAO Regional Office for Africa (RAF) Internship Programme by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
- The internship provides young women and men with an opportunity to gain practical work experience in areas related to FAO’s work while applying their academic knowledge in a professional international environment.
What The Internship Offers
Gain practical experience in a field related to FAO’s work.
Apply academic knowledge to real-world assignments.
- Work under the supervision of an assigned FAO supervisor.
- Contribute to FAO’s work supporting the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
- Gain experience in an international and multicultural environment.
- Share new perspectives, innovative ideas and recent academic knowledge.
Areas Of Work
- Interns may be assigned to different areas depending on their academic background and the needs of the organization.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
Be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree programme at the time of application or be a recent graduate.
- Have obtained their higher education qualification from an accredited or recognised institution listed in the World Higher Education Database (WHED).
- Specialise in a field relevant to FAO’s mission and work.
- Be a national of an FAO Member State.
- Be between 21 and 30 years old.
Have working knowledge of at least one FAO language:
- Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian or Spanish.
- Be able to adapt to an international and multicultural working environment.
- Have good communication skills.
- Knowledge of a second FAO language is considered an asset.
