UNDP GEF SGP Small Grants Programme - Operational Phase 8 (Part 2) Grant up $75,000
Are you part of a local community or civil society organisation working to protect the environment and advance sustainable development in Nigeria?
- Submission of a Concept is the first step in the application process for GEF Small Grants Programme (GEF-SGP) support.
- A Concept is a brief description of the idea for the project, which is reviewed by the GEF-SGP National Coordinator.
- If time permits, the National Coordinator can further discuss the idea with the proposing organisation and others, and can advise whether or not the idea can be considered for GEF-SGP support.
The Concept submission is intended to begin a dialogue between potential project implementers and the GEF-SGP to clarify and refine project ideas, before the proponent(s) invest(s) substantial time and resources into an elaborate proposal development.
Only the following organisations are eligible to apply for the GEF SGP fund:
- CSOs, NGOs, CBOs, Cooperatives, Social Enterprises, and Research/Academic Institutions.
- Ideas by Research/academic institutions must be practical, and the proponent must provide proof that the funds requested are not part of the normal subvention to run the institution.
- Any other organisation MUST contact the SGP first before completing/submitting a Concept Form.
- The GEF SGP will not give grants to one and/or related organisation (s) for two projects at a time.
