No Nigeria Police Recruitment 2025 Has Started Yet

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has officially announced that it has not begun the 2025 recruitment process for police officers.

  • This clarification comes in response to several misleading stories currently spreading across social media platforms, falsely claiming that the recruitment exercise is underway.

In a press release signed by Ikechukwu Ani of the Press and Public Relations unit on Sunday, August 3rd, 2025, the Commission said, “The Commission has not commenced this exercise and obviously will follow established procedures and processes when it is ready.”

  • The PSC described the ongoing social media reports as “misleading and mischievous,” urging the public to disregard such announcements.
  • It stated that any genuine update regarding recruitment will come directly from the Commission through official communication channels.
  • Currently, information is circulating on social media that PSC will begin recruitment from August 4, 2025.
  • This is not true as the Commission has made no such announcement yet.
  • The Commission strongly condemned what it called a “consistent attempt to fraudulently confuse the public each time there are preparations for recruitment.”

It also called on law enforcement agencies to track down the individuals responsible and take necessary legal action.

  • While assuring Nigerians that the recruitment process will remain transparent and rule-based, the PSC warned fraudsters to stay away from its activities.

They would be fished out and sanctioned according to law,” the Commission stated.
