• The Federal Ministry of Education, in collaboration with Oxford-TVET, is pleased to announce the commencement of applications for the Innovation Development and Effectiveness in the Acquisition of Skills (IDEAS) project. 

This initiative is a flagship Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) program designed to empower young Nigerians with market-driven, practical skills to foster employment and entrepreneurship.

As Nigeria’s energy landscape shifts towards renewable solutions, the demand for skilled technicians in the solar sector has never been higher. 

• This program is strategically designed to bridge the skills gap in the renewable energy industry by providing high-quality, hands-on technical training.

Program Overview

The IDEAS project focuses on providing specialized technical training to ensure that participants transition from trainees to skilled professionals or business owners. 

• This specific track focuses on Solar and Inverter Installation and Maintenance, offering a comprehensive curriculum that covers everything from foundational electrical principles to advanced system design and troubleshooting.

The Opportunity

Training Duration: 6 months (Intensive).

Specialization: Solar and Inverter Installation.

Mode: Full-time skill acquisition.

Location: Nationwide (Available in various states across Nigeria).

Target Audience and Eligibility

This program is specifically designed as a social intervention for unemployed individuals. 

Our primary objective is to create dedicated career pathways for those who are currently without full-time employment and are committed to long-term skill acquisition.

Eligibility Criteria:

Employment Status: Must be currently unemployed.

Nationality: Must be a citizen of Nigeria.

Nigerian job opportunities

• Commitment: Must be available for the full 6-month intensive training period.
• Aptitude: A strong interest in technical work, renewable energy, and vocational excellence.
• Age Group: Targetted at the youth demographic (as per Federal Ministry guidelines).
