- The Quantity Surveyor in the Internal Control Unit is responsible for ensuring cost efficiency, financial accuracy, compliance, and value-for-money across construction and project-related activities.
- The role focuses on reviewing project costs, validating valuations, monitoring budgets, preventing cost leakages, and supporting management through effective internal control and audit processes.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3–5 years relevant experience in construction cost control, audit, or internal control.
- Professional membership (NIQS, RICS, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of construction cost management and contract administration.
Good understanding of internal control systems and audit principles.
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and cost management software.
- Strong ethical standards and ability to work independently.
- Good communication and report-writing skills.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Accuracy of cost reviews and valuations.
- Reduction in cost overruns and financial leakages.
- Compliance level with procurement and contract policies.
- Timeliness and quality of audit and cost control reports.
