The Role

  • The Data Assistants will work closely with the Regional Research Monitoring and Evaluation Officers to strengthen the implementation of all M&E objectives and strategies at the regional and state levels.

Scope of Work

The Data Assistant (DA) will be required to work in the following areas:

Data Quality Audit: Support data audit activities at the state and facility levels, reviewing source documents and validating data. The DA is expected to support the routine data quality audits to expand the overall DQA coverage.

  • Archival and filing of Source Documents: Support the archival of source documents at the state and regional offices.
  • Support Management of Data Capturing Tools: Track issuance and use of all data collection tools (DCTs) at different levels.
  • Support Stock Consumption Reconciliation: Ensure Commodity Consumption Reconciliation for all channels is done promptly.
  • Support Capacity Building: Support training and capacity building on data collection tools for service providers and team members, and provide on-the-job mentoring and capacity building at different levels.

Support other relevant tasks: The DA will conduct In-reach monitoring, support performance reviews and reports, and other assigned tasks.

Duration of Work

The DA shall be engaged for a period of 13 working days in a month, based on the monthly approved work plan.The DA shall resume daily at 08:00 AM and close at 05:30 PM.

  • The DA must be based in and be willing to travel to communities in Kaba or Lokoja LGA in Kogi State and Suleja, Tunga axis in Niger State,to support MSI’swork.

Required Qualifications and Experience

The DA shall possess a Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma in Statistics, Computer Science, or any other relevant field, with a minimum of one year of experience working on health information systems for either government or non-governmental organizations.

  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, ODK/Kobo Collect & DHIS 2 will be an advantage.
  • Good written and communication skills.
  • An active team player with the ability to work with a diverse team.
  • Must have a good understanding of the terrain and the local language of the communities.
