About the Opportunity
Onelife Initiative is a leading non-governmental organization dedicated to social development and policy advocacy.
We are currently seeking to engage five (5) highly experienced and versatile consultants to lead a specialized assessment across five key Northern Nigerian states:
- Bauchi, Borno, Adamawa, Kano, and Kaduna.
This research aims to identify and analyze prime re-entry opportunities and existing educational practices for married and pregnant girls.
Key Deliverables and Responsibilities
The selected consultants will be expected to provide high-level technical expertise in the following areas:
Framework Development: Design a robust assessment framework and methodology tailored to the specific socio-cultural dynamics of the target states.
- Field Research: Plan and execute comprehensive qualitative and quantitative data collection, including Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) with policymakers, Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with affected girls and families, and In-depth Interviews (IDIs) with educational administrators.
Data Synthesis and Reporting: Analyze field findings to produce a high-quality, comprehensive report.
- This document must include actionable, evidence-based recommendations designed to trigger high-level advocacy and immediate state-level policy action.
Stakeholder Validation: Facilitate validation workshops with key stakeholders to ensure the findings are accurate, culturally sensitive, and aligned with the strategic goals of development partners
Requirements
- Advanced degree in Education, Gender Studies, Sociology, Public Policy, or a related field.
- Proven track record in conducting educational research or gender-based assessments in Northern Nigeria.
- Deep understanding of the barriers to female education and the nuances of state-level educational policies.
- Fluency in English and local languages (Hausa) relevant to the target states is highly desirable.
