Scope of the Position:
The Janitor is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and orderliness of office premises to ensure a safe and healthy working environment for staff and visitors.
- The role supports the overall operations of the organization by ensuring facilities are clean, functional, and well-maintained in line with organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Cleaning & Sanitation:
Clean and sanitize office spaces, including workstations, meeting rooms, restrooms, kitchens, and common areas.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust floors, furniture, and equipment regularly.
- Empty waste bins and ensure proper waste disposal in line with hygiene standards.
Replenish supplies such as soap, tissue paper, and hand sanitizers.
Facility Support:
Ensure cleanliness and proper arrangement of office furniture and equipment.
- Report any maintenance issues (e.g., plumbing, electrical faults, damages) to the supervisor promptly.
Support basic office setup for meetings and events (e.g., arranging chairs, cleaning meeting rooms before and after use).
Health, Safety & Hygiene Compliance:
Follow health and safety guidelines while using cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Ensure all cleaning activities meet organizational hygiene and safety standards.
Properly store cleaning materials and equipment after use.
Stock & Supplies Management:
- Monitor cleaning supplies and inform the supervisor when restocking is needed.
- Ensure proper usage of cleaning materials to avoid waste.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Minimum of a secondary school certificate.
- Prior experience in cleaning or janitorial services is an added advantage.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques and use of cleaning equipment.
- Good physical condition and ability to perform routine cleaning tasks.
- Honesty, reliability, and attention to detail.

Working Conditions:
