Job Summary
As the Chief Mechanic (Diesel Engines), you will oversee the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of diesel-powered trucks and equipment while ensuring optimal performance, minimal downtime, and effective supervision of mechanical operations.
Responsibilities
Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines across trucks and heavy-duty equipment
- Supervise mechanical activities and ensure proper maintenance schedules are followed
- Conduct routine inspections to prevent breakdowns and ensure operational efficiency
- Manage repair records, parts usage, and report major faults or replacement needs
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper handling of mechanical tools and equipment
Requirements
Minimum of SSCE or Technical/Vocational certification in Automobile or Diesel Mechanics
- Minimum of 4 years experience working with diesel engines and heavy-duty vehicles
- Relevant certification in Diesel/Heavy-Duty Mechanics is an advantage
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, diagnostics, and repairs
- Good leadership, troubleshooting, and maintenance planning skills.
Qualification: Secondary School (SSCE)
