Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organization that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters and exclusion from healthcare. 

  • Médecins Sans Frontières aids populations in distress, to victims of natural or man-made disasters and to victims of armed conflict. They do so irrespective of race, religion, creed or political convictions.

Accountabilities

Supervise,organiseand plan the activity of Data Entry officers to have a reliable record of medical activity performed, as well asidentifytheir training/technical support needsin order toprovide a good service support and reliability of the data collected.

Ensure collation and entry of all dataidentifiedby project managers for collection (e.g.morbidity, mortality, surveillance of diseases of epidemics, nutrition, psychological and women’s  health,etc) into theappropriate datamanagement system while ensuring quality of data

  • Do quality control data officers’ performance on regular basis
  • Know and ensure proper use of software used for recording (i.e.Fuchia, Epi Info, etc.).
  • Ensure accuracy of the medical dataentered intothemission’sdatabase on a regular basis, according to MSF protocols and carry out regular back-ups.
  • Provide technical support to data entry officers/operators in project sites and give response to their training needs.
  • Provide regular statistical reports for the medical team as well as informing the superior of any missing information, majorchangesor big differences in data

Specific Accountabilities

Routine Project Data:

  • The Supervisor Medical Data entry is responsible for the completion of all medical data entry in Outreach activities, inpatient and outpatient nutrition activities and surveillance of all epidemical diseases within the targeted community.

General:

Maintain a good system of data collection from ICCM Sites, ATFC’s and ITFCs supported by MSF and respect MSF protocols.

Secure and continuously improve data quality, evaluate missing information, and provide appropriate explanations about information needed then, checking if the staff responsible understood.

  • Organizing a training for all the team involved in data collection (MSF & MoH).
  • Ensures professional confidentiality is respected when data are collected.
  • Correct use of MSF properties.
  • Clean and analysis data before sharing with Data Analyst Activity Manager
  • Share the updated Line Lists of notifiable disease with MoH

Data Management:

  • MSF data protection policies must be followed when exchanging data.
  • Sometimes to work with the team where data are generated then work with them to identify weakness then organize a training.
  • Protect MSF data, before sharing any information, discuss with Data Analyst Activity Manager for his greenlight.
