Objective
To ensure uninterrupted availability of raw materials, engineering spares, consumables, packaging materials, chemicals, and operational supplies required for efficient factory and agricultural operations, while maintaining optimal inventory levels, cost efficiency, and strong governance standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
Develop and implement effective material planning strategies to ensure timely availability of materials for factory, engineering, agricultural, and administrative operations.
- Monitor stock levels and maintain optimal inventory thresholds to prevent stock-outs and excess inventory.
- Coordinate material forecasting activities in collaboration with Production, Engineering, Agriculture, and Procurement teams.
- Ensure proper categorization and codification of inventory items.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of all warehouses and storage facilities within LASUCO.
- Ensure proper storage, preservation, handling, and issuance of materials in line with best practices and safety standards.
- Ensure accuracy of inventory records within ERP systems.
Conduct cycle counts, monthly stock counts, and annual physical inventory exercises. Establish strong internal controls to minimize pilferage, wastage, and inventory losses.
Ensure compliance with company policies, audit requirements, safety and regulatory standards.
- Liaise with all relevant departments and teams to align material requirements with operational needs.
- Prepare periodic inventory and materials management reports for Management review.
- Track and report inventory KPIs, including inventory turnover, stock accuracy, stock aging, and material availability rates.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the materials management team to drive high performance and operational excellence.
Qualification / Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration, or related discipline.
- Professional certification (CILT, APICS, CSCP preferred).
- Minimum of 5-8 years' relevant experience in materials management, warehouse operations, or inventory control within a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 5 years in multi-site or national-level warehouse leadership.
- Strong ERP systems knowledge.
Experience in FMCG or large-scale manufacturing preferred.
