PFM Accountant Local Technical Assistants (LTA) at the Sanitas Health and Development Foundation (SANHDEF)

As a registered organization in Nigeria, SANHDEF specializes in providing technical assistance to achieve sustainable development solutions.
Location: Assigned Local Government Area (LGA), Kano
About the Role
The Kano State Health Systems Strengthening (HSS) Strengthening (HSS) Project Across 44 LGAs, implemented by SANHDEF, seeks to engage qualified candidates as Local Technical Assistants (LTAs) to support public financial management (PFM) activities at the LGA and PHC facility levels.
- The LTAs will provide hands-on technical support, mentoring, and oversight to strengthen financial reporting, expenditure tracking, and compliance with BHCPF guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical support and mentoring to PHC facility staff on PFM practices
- Support accurate and timely financial reporting at facility and LGA levels
- Conduct regular visits to assigned PHC facilities (minimum twice monthly)
- Support expenditure tracking, petty cash management, and financial documentation
- Assist in preparation of facility business plans and expenditure trackers
- Conduct data verification and support data quality audits
- Submit monthly performance reports and attend review meetings
- Flag financial irregularities and support resolution processes
- Collaborate with LGA health account officers and stakeholders
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of OND in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- At least 2 years of experience in PFM, health finance, or related field
- Familiarity with BHCPF and government financial processes
- Proficiency in MS Office and data tools
- Strong communication skills (English and Hausa)
- Residency in or familiarity with assigned LGA is an advantage.
