Network Engineer at Consulting Limited
Job Overview
The Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and supporting the organization’s network infrastructure.
- The ideal candidate will ensure seamless connectivity across all business units, maintain high network availability, and proactively address technical issues to minimize downtime.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, routers, switches, firewalls, wireless systems, and VPNs
- Ensure stable and secure connectivity across head office, branch locations, data centres, and remote users
- Monitor network performance, bandwidth utilization, uptime, and overall service availability
- Detect, troubleshoot, and resolve network faults and incidents in a timely manner
- Provide technical support and guidance to internal users and IT teams
- Support servers, backup systems, email platforms, internet services, and business-critical connectivity (including financial systems where applicable)
- Implement and enforce network security policies, including access controls, patching, and vulnerability management
- Maintain up-to-date documentation such as network diagrams, IP address schemes, asset inventories, and configuration backups
- Collaborate with internet service providers (ISPs), vendors, and third-party IT partners to resolve issues and improve service delivery
Participate in system upgrades, network optimization, and infrastructure improvement initiatives
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in network administration, IT infrastructure support, or related roles
- Strong technical knowledge of routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networking
- Hands-on experience with network monitoring tools and cybersecurity best practices
- Familiarity with backup systems, server environments, and enterprise IT operations
- Experience working in banking, fintech, or other regulated environments is an added advantage
Preferred Certifications
Candidates with one or more of the following certifications will have an added advantage:
- CCNA / CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Associate / Professional)
- CompTIA Network+ or Security+
- Fortinet certifications
- Microsoft Azure or AWS certifications
- ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library)
