Job Type: Definite (1 year with possibility of extension)
Duty Station: Sokoto (with flexibility to travel to other states within Nigeria)
Main objective & responsibility of the position
Ensure the timely, accurate, and reliable collection, entry, management, and reporting of medical data for NERU activities, in line with MSF protocols and data management standards.
- The Supervisor Medical Data Entry oversees and supports data entry staff, ensures data quality, and contributes to epidemiological surveillance, reporting, and decision-making during emergency and outbreak responses.
Nigeria Emergency Response Unit (NERU) Scenarios:
- Water Borne Disease: Cholera
- Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPDs): Diphtheria, Measles and Meningitis
- Viral Hemorrhagic Fevers (VHFs): Lassa fever and Dengue
- Nutrition Crisis exacerbated by food insecurity, conflict, population displacements, and as a result of climate change
- Displacement Related Scenarios: Flood & Conflict/Violence
- Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV)
- Mass Casualty Incidence/Planning
Accountabilities:
Supervise, organize, and plan the work of medical data entry and data processing staff to ensure reliable recording of medical activities.
- Ensure collection, collation, and entry of medical data (e.g. morbidity, mortality, epidemic surveillance, nutrition, SGBV, mental health) into appropriate data management systems.
- Perform regular quality control of data entry and ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data.
- Ensure proper and effective use of data management software and tools, including DHIS2, Epi Info, and Excel.
- Carry out regular data back-ups and ensure data security and confidentiality in line with MSF standards.
