Facilitator For Organizational Development & Leadership Training At Concern for Women and Children Development Foundation (COWACDI)
Concern for Women and Children Development Foundation (COWACDI) is a women-led organization born out of passion for the wellbeing of Women and Children in Nigeria.
- It has a special interest in mitigating the suffering of the vulnerable persons (mostly Women & Children) in times of crisis.
Role/Responsibilities
The Training Facilitator will plan and facilitate the Organizational Development and Leadership Training for Women Groups under the POWER Project.
- The consultant will strengthen the institutional capacity, leadership skills, governance systems, and sustainability of women groups across the five target wards in Guyuk LGA.
- The facilitator will apply participatory adult learning methodologies to ensure practical learning and promote women’s participation in community leadership and decision-making.
Tasks:
Conduct an inception meeting with the project team before the
Review the training agenda and adapt facilitation methods to suit
- Facilitate organizational development and leadership training
- Delivery sessions on leadership, governance, accountability, and decision-
- Build participants’ capacity on group management, conflict resolution, and financial record
- Facilitate sessions on advocacy, networking, and community
- Guide participants in developing practical group action
- Administer pre- and post-training
- Encourage peer learning, practical exercises, and group
- Ensure active participation of women, youth representatives, women with disabilities, and other
- Document key discussions, recommendations, and training
- Submit a comprehensive training report, including attendance sheets, pre/post-test analysis, photographs, and participants’ action plans.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, gender equality, and inclusion principles throughout.
Desirable Skills/Quality:
- Excellent facilitation and adult learning
- Strong interpersonal and communication
- Experience working with women groups and community-based
- Good understanding of gender-transformative programming and women’s
- Strong report-writing and documentation
- Ability to facilitate participatory discussions and manage diverse
- Good knowledge of safeguarding and PSEA
- Fluency in English and Hausa
- Ability to work effectively under minimal supervision and deliver quality output within agreed
Educational Qualification & Experience Requirements
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Gender Studies, Public Administration, Adult Education, Community Development, or a related field.
- At least 5 years’ experience facilitating organizational development, leadership, governance, and capacity strengthening training for community groups, particularly women groups.
- Demonstrated experience working with NGOs and donor-funded
- Strong facilitation, communication, and report writing
- Knowledge of gender equality, women’s empowerment, safeguarding, and community engagement
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and Hausa (knowledge of local languages is an added advantage).
- Experience developing participatory training materials and facilitating adult learning
Language required:
- Fluency in oral and written English or Hausa is required
