Job Title: Workshop Assistant
Location: Borno
Background
Malaria Consortium, through funding from Give Well will support NMEP and SMEP in Borno, FCT, Kogi, Abia States to implement ITN Mass Campaign. Malaria Consortium, in collaboration with national and state level stakeholders, is distributing over 16 million pyrethroid chlorfenapyr nets using a single-phase door-to-door approach, covering an estimated population of more than 27 million people in Abia, Borno, FCT and Kogi.
- The dual-insecticide nets have been chosen to address widespread pyrethroid resistance in malaria vectors.
- The project is designed to ensure equitable access to ITNs while strengthening monitoring and evaluation to inform future malaria intervention designs.
- A State Training of Trainers is geared to equip the LGA technical assistants with the knowledge and skill to support the microplanning workshops and activities in the LGAs for the 2026 ITN campaign
Purpose of Assignment
- The Workshop Assistants will provide Six (6) day logistics and workshop support for 2026 ITN Microplanning STOT and Data Validation.
Required output/Deliverables
At the end of the assignment, the expected deliverables include:
- Completed and validated participant's/facilitators attendance list (hard copies and soft copies)
- Collated and validated bank details of facilitator/ participants (both hard and soft copy)
- Returned meeting materials/ equipment and assets back to MC office after close of meeting.
- Attendance sheets for participants
- Typed in excel format the list of participants with bank account details.
- E-copy of meeting pictures
- Submit a report of the Meeting to the Admin Officer
Specific Tasks
Report on duty by 7:00am to ensure the meeting venue is always clean, tidy and hygienic throughout the meeting period.
- Facilitate the logistics movement of meeting materials to and from the meeting venue.
- Support the distribution of meeting materials to participants when needed.
- Ensure attendance sheets are completed by all meeting participants.
- Compile and type participants' attendance lists into an electronic template.
- Compile, verify and type participants' account details into an electronic template.
- Provide feedback on daily attendance to enable timely communication with food vendors for daily supplies.
- Liaise with the hotel to keep feeding times.
- Take photographs of meeting sessions
- Set up and operate IT equipment for the smooth running of the meeting.
- Do other assigned duties for the smooth running of the workshop.
Expert Profile
The following is required by the Supporting Officer:
- Minimum of SSCE qualification.
- Computer proficiency (MS word, excel and PowerPoint)
- Must have at least one-year experience in similar positions/assignment
- Good numeracy, written and verbal communication skills.
- Good attention to details and accuracy.
