MTN ICT Business Skills Training Program is a Youth Development initiative aimed at equipping young entrepreneurs between 18 and 35 years with tech enabled skills to keep their small businesses relevant and competitive.

  • The training will be delivered through a 5-week online programme which includes Masterclasses from key industry experts.
  • Participants will be given data for the duration of the programme to support a seamless learning experience.

MTN ICT Business Skills Training Program Details:

Since 2018 the initiative has run seven phases successful in collaboration with Google, Oracle, KPMG, IBM, Digital Bridge Institute, Cisco, Meta and Microsoft, across 29 states and the FCT.

The states are: 

  • Abia, Adamawa, Anambra, Akwa Ibom, Bauchi, Bayelsa, Borno, Cross River, Edo, Ebonyi, Ekiti, Enugu, Jigawa, Imo, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Kogi, Lagos, Niger, Nasarawa, Ondo, Oyo, Plateau, Rivers, Sokoto, Taraba, Yobe and the Federal Capital Territory. 

15,362 young micro business owners have completed the programme.

Requirements for MTN ICT Business Skills Training Program.

To be considered for the program, you must:

  • Nigerian male or female 18 – 35 years old
  • Own and manage a small business that has been in operation for no longer than 2 years
  • Own and manage a small business located in one of the following states – Rivers, Abia, Ogun, Kwara, Kano, or Gombe state.

Duration & Rewards for MTN ICT Business Skills Training Program

In this Phase 8, the training will run for five weeks using a blended-learning approach that combines self-paced online modules, instructor-led sessions, masterclasses from seasoned entrepreneurs, and a capstone project challenge.

  • Participants will receive data support to ensure a seamless learning experience towards applying new skills to their businesses.
  • The top 100 participants will receive up to ₦1,000,000 in equipment grants, from a ₦100,000,000 fund. 
  • Over previous phases the programme has delivered measurable impact across diverse sectors, helping micro businesses scale and adopt digital practices.
  • Phase 8 will train 3,000 female micro business owners from Rivers, Abia, Ogun, Kwara, Kano and Gombe states.
