Lindii Peace Foundation (LPF) is a Non-Profit and Non-governmental Organization in Nigeria which was registered as a corporate body with the Corporate Affairs Commission on the Eleventh (11th) day of July, 2014.
- The foundation was formed by some eminent survivors of the Insurgency in North-east Nigeria and a few well-meaning Individuals who came together with a vision to see Nigeria a poverty free place where peace will abide and humanity can live freely in harmony.

Job Purpose
The OPC will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, monitoring, and basic maintenance of designated water supply systems and the safe treatment of water through appropriate chlorination processes.
- The position will ensure that water treatment and supply activities are carried out safely and consistently, with appropriate monitoring and documentation to support the provision of safe and adequate water to targeted communities.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and monitor assigned water supply and treatment systems in accordance with approved procedures.
Carry out routine chlorination of water using approved methods and ensure appropriate chlorine dosing.
- Conduct regular checks of chlorine levels and other basic water-quality parameters as required.
- Maintain accurate records of water production, treatment, chlorine usage, residual chlorine levels, and other relevant operational information.
- Monitor water points, pumps, storage tanks, pipelines, generators, and other associated equipment for proper functionality.
Conduct basic preventive maintenance and promptly report faults, breakdowns, leaks, or other technical issues to the supervisor.
- Ensure that water treatment and distribution equipment is kept clean, functional, and properly maintained.
- Safely handle, store, and use chlorine and other water-treatment materials in accordance with safety procedures.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling chlorine and carrying out water-treatment activities.
- Support water-quality testing and sampling as directed by the WASH Officer or supervisor.
- Monitor water availability and report interruptions or emerging supply challenges promptly.
- Support the cleaning and disinfection of water storage facilities and related infrastructure as required.
- Work with community representatives and water committees to promote proper use and protection of water facilities.
- Immediately report any water-quality concerns, contamination risks, equipment failures, or safety incidents.
- Maintain proper records of tools, equipment, chemicals, and other materials under their responsibility.
- Support WASH assessments, monitoring visits, and other field activities as required.
Comply with LPF safeguarding, health and safety, environmental, accountability, and operational procedures.
Perform any other duties related to water supply and treatment as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum of SSCE / WAEC / NECO; OND / HND or technical training in Water Resources, Environmental Health, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Plumbing, Public Health, or a related field is an advantage.
- Previous experience operating water supply systems, boreholes, water treatment facilities, or chlorination systems is highly desirable.
- Practical knowledge of water chlorination and basic water-quality monitoring.
- Ability to safely handle and use chlorine and other water-treatment chemicals.
- Basic understanding of pumps, generators, water storage tanks, pipes, valves, and related water infrastructure.
- Ability to identify basic equipment faults and carry out routine maintenance or troubleshooting.
- Ability to maintain accurate operational records and complete simple reports.
- Good understanding of occupational health and safety procedures.
- Ability to work in field locations and respond promptly to operational needs.
- Previous experience working with an NGO or humanitarian organization is an advantage.
- Knowledge of the local context and relevant local language(s) is an advantage.
