Call for Volunteer Data Collectors Community-Led Climate Governance Research - Sabon Gari, Zaria
The Sustainable Participatory Initiative for Development (SPiD) is calling for passionate and committed young people to volunteer as Data Collectors in our upcoming research project:
- “Strengthening Community Participation in Climate Governance through an Assessment of Awareness Levels, Climate Impacts, Governance Gaps, and Indigenous Practices in Nigerian Communities - A Case Study of Sabon Gari LGA, Kaduna State.”
Why Volunteer
As a Data Collector, you will:
Contribute to groundbreaking community-led climate governance research.
- Gain hands-on experience in field data collection and participatory research methods.
- Build skills in research, teamwork, and community engagement.
- Receive recognition and a certificate of contribution at the end of the project.
Roles & Responsibilities
Conduct household and community surveys in Sabon Gari LGA.
- Moderate Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and Key Informant Interview (KII)
- Take note, record, and transcribe interviews.
- Ensure accurate, ethical, and complete data entry.
- Engage respectfully with community members during interviews.
- Report daily progress to the field supervisor.
Eligibility Criteria
We are looking for volunteers who are:
Residents of or familiar with Sabon Gari and Zaria LGA
- Fluent in Hausa and English.
- At least 18 years old.
- Passionate about climate, environment, and community development.
- Willing to commit during the data collection period (about 2–3 weeks in September).
