Project Brief Overview

The Reaching Out-of-School Children (ROOSC) Project aims to improve access to inclusive and equitable quality primary education for marginalized and out-of-school children in Kaduna State. 

• The project emphasizes community engagement, accountability to affected populations, and responsiveness to the feedback and concerns of children, caregivers, and community members.
• To strengthen the community-based Feedback and Reporting Mechanisms (FRMs), the project requires the deployment of Accountability Field Assistants across the 23 target LGAs. 

These personnel will support the operationalization of accountability systems and ensure feedback from affected populations is collected, documented, and responded to in a timely, safe, and confidential manner.

Scope of work:

• Recruit qualified Accountability Field Assistants to support community-based accountability across the ROOSC implementing LGAs.

Key Areas Of Accountability:

Responsibilities of the Field Assistant:

Ensure effective monitoring, documentation, and referral of feedback and complaints from children and adults.

• Facilitate awareness and sensitization on the use of FRM tools at the community level.
• To share relevant information with children and the community on our programming
• To sensitize communities to implement the LGAs and communities on the Accountability mechanism To gather feedback and accurately interpret written feedback and documents on a database.

Call For Volunteers

• T draft reports about activities carried out.
• Carry out routine monitoring of learning centers
• Translate feedback from feedback boxes in communities
• Translate feedback from local language(s) to English.

Receive and respond to beneficiary complaints under the direction and supervision of the MEAL Coordinators/Officers And any other task that may arise.

Others

Fully comply with the SCI Code of Conduct and ensure Child Safeguarding Policy is always upheld.

• Ensure adherence to SCI standards and quality requirements in all project activities.

Qualifications, Experience & Attributes

Essential:

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree
• At least 1-2 years of experience in community-based programming or field data collection.
• Familiarity with the local context, culture, and language(s) of the target LGAs.
• Knowledge of child safeguarding/protection, education, or accountability programming is an added advantage.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic skills in smartphone or tablet-based data collection.
• Willingness to travel to remote areas frequently.
