Research Advisor at Leprosy Mission Nigeria
The Leprosy Mission (TLM) is an international Christian organization serving the needs of people affected by leprosy in 30 countries.
- We bring healing through appropriate treatment and care, as well as practical support for people with ongoing leprosy related problems, working in partnership with communities, national governments and other agencies.
Role Description
The Research Advisor leads program and policy research at TLM-Nigeria.
- Through research, publication and networking, the Research Advisor will help position TLM-Nigeria as a thought leader in relevant program content areas.
- In addition to proven research and writing skills and credentials, the Research Advisor will actively engage others in innovative approaches to assert the rights of People affected by leprosy and Disabilities in Nigeria.
Main Tasks
The Research Advisor will oversee research activities, including assessments, data analysis, and operations research; conduct quality assurance; and contribute to building the evidence base for programming.
- The Research Advisor will provide technical assistance to the development of TLMN research projects and strengthen research capacities within TLM Nigeria, including providing mentorship and training for programme officers.
The Research Advisor will maintain essential research working relations with TLM Global Fellowship and research institutions to build linkages and synergies.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as statistics, social sciences, sociology, etc.; a PhD will be an added advantage.
Five to seven years’ experience conducting and supervising significant research projects in related fields, including primary and secondary research of quantitative and qualitative data. Fields may include NTDs, Tuberculosis, disability, gender, and development.
- Experience using computer-based data analysis software (qualitative and quantitative).
- Excellent networking skills and strong interpersonal communication skills.
