One Acre Fund is a nonprofit organization that supplies smallholder farmers in East Africa with asset-based financing and agriculture training services to reduce hunger and poverty.

About the Role:

This role is responsible for the daily operations of the assigned Nigerian warehouse, ensuring the correctness of inventory and adherence to standard operating procedures. 

The detailed scope of tasks is as follows:

Warehouse Management:

Correctly store all inventories at the warehouse and keep accurate records of all transactions relating to stock movement in order to eliminate the opportunity for losses or fraud

  • Conduct periodical stock verification and ensure the correctness of stock. Work with the manager to avoid stock outages at all times by adopting best practices. 
  • Adopt standard safety measures for safe warehouse operations. Regularly check for defects and expirations to avoid any damage or loss.
  • Maintain a well-arranged and clean warehouse at all times and adhere to all organization standard operating procedures for warehouse management

Materials Handling and Deliveries: 

Receive and dispatch goods at the warehouse accurately by qualifying the quantities, quality, and specifications. 

  • Use and update the right documentation for all material transfers and movements.

Own the quality control process for goods delivered to the warehouse by suppliers and communicate effectively with the relevant stakeholders for decision-making

  • Coordinate timely document transmission for all deliveries and escalate matters requiring the attention of the Supply Chain Coordinator or Systems Lead
  • System Administration and Reporting
  • Collaborate with Data Coordinators to ensure accurate and timely data entry

Qualifications

  • Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for. 

For this role specifically, you will have:

Knowledge & Experience:

1-2 experience in warehouse/inventory management 

Diploma or a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in the supply chain, economics, business administration, or related fields from recognized institutions 

Demonstrated computer skills and proficiency in email, internet usage, Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Google Suite for data analysis, presentation, and report writing 

  • Proactive in identifying and solving problems
  • Demonstrates integrity and a positive attitude

Language: fluent in English and Hausa (mandatory) and has a good understanding of local communities and cultures in Bauchi State , e.g. Warji ,Sayawa, Dass, Geruma  etc
