The Nigerian Revenue Service (NRS) has announced the commencement of Season 4 of its National Essay Competition (NEC).
NEC Season 4 is designed to promote critical thinking among young Nigerians while stimulating informed dialogue on public finance, accountability, and national development.
- The program seeks to invite young Nigerians to demonstrate their intellectual depth, analytical capacity, and policy insight on one of the nation’s most pressing economic issues.
Eligibility Requirements for National Essay Competition (NEC) 2026
To be considered for the National Essay Competition (NEC) 2026, you must:
- Be Nigerian citizens
- Be between 20 and 35 years old
- Submit an original essay
- Persons living with disabilities are also encouraged to apply
Benefits of NRS National Essay Competition 2026
Winners of the competition will receive the following cash prizes:
First Prize – ₦5,000,000
Second Prize – ₦3,000,000
Third Prize – ₦2,000,000

- Essay must be original, analytical, and well-researched
- Proper referencing and citation must be included
- Essay must be typed using:
