Plan International Nigeria invites applications from passionate and committed young people to join its Youth Advisory Panel (YAP)—an independent, youth-owned, and youth-led platform dedicated to influencing policies,
- Programmes, and advocacy that impact young people, particularly girls and young women, across Nigeria.
About the Youth Advisory Panel (YAP)
The Youth Advisory Panel serves as Plan International Nigeria’s principal mechanism for meaningful youth engagement.
- YAP ensures that young people are not only beneficiaries but co-creators, influencers, and decision-makers in shaping policies, programmes, and advocacy initiatives at national and regional levels.
Who Can Apply
Young people aged 15–27 years
- Passionate about social change, leadership, and youth development
- Strong interest in gender equality, education, SRHR, governance, and inclusion
- Girls, young women, and young people with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply
Policy and Advocacy
Provide strategic input into the design, review, and implementation of policy and advocacy initiatives.
- Represent youth perspectives in national and international development dialogues.
- Contribute to policy briefs, position papers, and advocacy messages reflecting youth priorities.
Strategy & Governance
Advise on organisational strategic plans and annual work plans.
- Participate in planning and budgeting processes to promote transparency, inclusiveness, and accountability.
- Strengthen youth engagement in governance structures within Plan International Nigeria.
Programmes & Campaigns
- Provide youth- and girl-centered perspectives to programme design and implementation.
- Support the planning of events, campaigns, and community initiatives involving young people.
- Review youth- and child-focused project proposals.
- Define youth-responsive success indicators and feedback mechanisms.
