  • This ambitious initiative aims to strengthen Nigeria’s health workforce by reskilling and upskilling over 44,000 Community-Based Health Workers (CBHWs) across 17 states and the Federal Capital Territory by 2028. 
  • The programme integrates workforce development, institutional strengthening, and digital innovation to enhance healthcare delivery at the community level.

Position Overview

The Data Entry Clerk will play a critical role in supporting field-based research and data management activities. Working under the supervision of the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accurate collection, validation, and documentation of data generated during programme implementation.

  • This role is particularly suited for individuals with strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of data quality and confidentiality. Given the nature of the assignment, candidates must be resident in the selected states and able to work effectively in field-based environments.

The position is available in the following states: 

  • Kaduna, Niger, Plateau, Katsina, Borno, Yobe, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Key Responsibilities

The Data Entry Clerk will be responsible for obtaining informed consent from study participants prior to any data collection, ensuring compliance with ethical standards. The role involves administering structured questionnaires and checklists accurately, as well as supporting qualitative data collection activities such as Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) using approved tools and guidelines.

  • The candidate will ensure completeness and accuracy of collected data by reviewing questionnaires and interview records on the spot, identifying and correcting inconsistencies where necessary. Maintaining strict confidentiality of participant information is a critical component of the role.
  • Additionally, the Data Entry Clerk will assist in data cleaning and validation processes by identifying discrepancies and ensuring that all datasets meet required quality standards. Timely submission of completed tools, reports, and documentation in accordance with project protocols is also expected.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in quantitative and qualitative research. 

  • A first degree in a relevant field is required, while additional certifications in computer proficiency will be considered an advantage.
  • Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic statistical or data collection tools. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, patience, and the ability to work under pressure are essential for success in this role.

Required Skills

The ideal candidate should possess experience in report writing and the ability to collate and analyze data effectively. Familiarity with data collection tools and statistical packages is important, alongside strong computer literacy in Microsoft Word and Excel.
