ECI work across Health/ Nutrition, Education, Food Security and livelihood, Wash, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), Peace building Conflict Resolution, Climate change Adaptation and Environmental Sustainability, Protection, with strong focus on gender-based violence (SGBV). 

  • El-Ezhar Care Initiative is in consortium with Murmushi people’s Development (MPDF) Foundation as the lead partner and Clear View Integrity Initiative (CVIF) to implement an integrated UNICEF supported programme across six LGAs of Adamawa State: Gombi, Hong, Mubi North, Mubi South, Michika ad Madagali.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Procurement & Logistic Officer

Locations: Gombi, Hong, Mubi North, Mubi South, Mikicka, and Madagali LGA – Adamawa

Job Summary / Position Overview

  • The Procurement and logistics officer is responsible for facilitating and following all procurement and logistic activities .
  • The procurement and logistics officer is responsible to process purchase file, movement and transactions for equipment, materials, supplies, capital goods, and services.

Line Management/Position in the Organization:

  • El-Ezhar Care Initiative (ECI)
  • Reports to the Program Manager

Key and Responsibilities

Ensure that procurement and logistics proxcedures are followed in regards to supply chain including procurement , receipt and documentation

  • Ensure that the store-keeper keeps standard stock management (storage conditions, relevant reports, observations of expirations date etc
  • Ensure best available price and quality of items before acceptance from supplier
  • Update the prices and suppliers list at least every two months
  • Any other task assigned

Qualifications / Core Requirement

University degree in social science, or related fields

  • Good knowledge and understanding of DO NO HARM principles and established international child protection standards (especially UNICEF)

Experience:

  •  2 to 5 years of progressive relevant work experience as procurement/ logistic professional particularly in developing or emergency settings.

Skills and Competencies:

Strong ability to work independently, organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail

  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility
  • Works well in and promotes teamwork, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well.
  • Ability to read and write in both English and others languages appropriately in Northeast Nigeria
  • Skills in training and management
  • Proficiency in the use of computers (MS Word, Excel, Power Point Presentation).
  • Should be multitasking and can work with little or no supervision.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and to provide quality and timely support and services.
  • Professionalism and flexible attitude to work

Ability to work under pressure and flexibility to adjust work schedules and priorities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of humanitarian sector/ nutrition project.
  • Ability to in aligning in environment with few support services
  • Experience working with donor funded project
  • Ability to speak English fluently, Hausa and other local languages desirable.
  • Familiarity with financial management and reporting requirements of major donors.
  • Excellent English written, verbal communication and report writing skillsto manage relationship in potential tense situations.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment and adapt to diverse contexts.
