PATH is seeking an experienced Advocacy Communication and Social Mobilization ACSM Officer to support community mobilization and outreach activities aimed at improving routine immunization coverage across 16 Local Government Areas in Kebbi State
Key Responsibilities
Develop demand generation and community engagement strategies with state and LGA health officials, traditional leaders, religious
- leaders, local partners and other stakeholders
- Support project workplans and deliverables related to community outreach and mobilization
- Support training of Mobile Immunization Team mobilizers on clear and accurate immunization messaging
- Participate in microplanning and provide guidance on outreach locations and timing
- Work with community leaders and health officials to adapt communication materials to emerging issues including new vaccines, misinformation and rumours
- Support advocacy visits and stakeholder meetings
- Document successes, challenges, solutions and lessons learned from mobilization activities
- Coordinate community mobilization activities including town hall meetings, market outreaches and school engagements
- Strengthen linkages between communities and health facilities to improve immunization service uptake
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Communications or a related field
- At least 5 years of relevant programme experience working on community mobilization activities
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing community outreach strategies
- Strong communication skills and ability to translate technical immunization information for community audiences
- Experience providing leadership, supervision and mentorship
- Excellent interpersonal and public communication skills
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously
- Ability to work effectively with diverse colleagues, partners and stakeholders
- Professional proficiency in written and spoken English
- Willingness to travel within Kebbi State as required
