Details

The Federal Ministry of Environment, in conjunction with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), is spearheading the KPABEP Scholarship Program.

  • The Federal Ministry of Environment/UNIDO Kpabep Scholarship is aimed at fostering the potential of female technicians and engineers in Nigeria.

  • This initiative will identify 20 outstanding female engineering students from Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones and equip them to become future leaders in the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC) sector.

Requirements

To be considered for the Federal Government UNIDO Charity Kpabeb Scholarship, you must:

  • Identify as a woman
  • Have a Nigerian citizenship
  • Be aged below 40 at the time of application
  • Be enrolled in an accredited Nigerian university or post-secondary institution in a full-time engineering or related degree program
  • Must be within the final two years of study
  • Demonstrate leadership and engagement in extracurricular activities
  • Show commitment to attending scholarship engagement events, workshops, and trainings
  • Show commitment to completing a relevant internship within the scholarship period
  • Have willingness to provide quarterly progress reports and an internship report

Benefits

Successful candidates will receive a one-time award of up to $4,000 to cover tuition and living expenses, brand new laptops and Android phones.

  • Additionally, beneficiaries may have the opportunity for specialized RAC training and a 1 to 3-month internship in a company focusing on RAC.
  • The scholarship also includes a collegiate membership with the Society of Women Engineers, mentorship in the engineering field, and other networking opportunities.

Required Documents 

To apply, candidates must be ready to submit the following documents;

A 1000-word maximum Letter of Motivation answering specific questions related to career plans and achievements

  • 30–60 second video answering the question “Why me?” in MP4 or MOV format (maximum 10MB)
  • Curriculum vitae/resume
  • Academic transcripts and certificates
  • Proof of enrollment in the current semester, if available
