Description
- Currently, MSF France is co-operating with the Federal Ministry of Health, State and Local government departments of health on various projects.
- Our current focus is a VVF and maternity response in Jahun, Jigawa state, and Malaria and Nutrition response in Katsina state with its coordination office in Abuja, Nigeria.
Main Purpose
Supporting the Water, Hygiene and Sanitation (Watsan) Manager in the implementation and supervision of Watsan activities, including tools and materials employed according to MSF standards and protocols, in order to improve health and living conditions of the target population.
Job Description
Ensures that WatSan specific MSF – protocols/procedures for adequate water supply, sanitation, vector control and waste management are respected and implemented
- Ensures that other relevant logistical protocolls/procedures, e.g. cold-chain management, are respected and implemented
- Supervises/monitores the inventory and ensures uninterupted availability of WATSAN stocks
Supervision and management of WatSan and logistical staff including:
- Participation in meetings e.g. Wash Cluster meeting and sharing of relevant information
Supervisies and participates in outreach activities such as:
- Preparation of SitReps
- Participation in exploratory/ assesment trips and report
- Qualified on-site WatSan and Log assessments reflecting current situation, definition of needs in and recommendation of actions within a written comprehensive report
- Planning and facilitating of trainings specifically for WatSan and Logistical part of emergency interventions
- Assisting Supply Team, Inventory and Management of the EPREP stock
- Assisting Suppy Team in market assessmets for EPREP specific items e.g Cholera beds, stackable stands, water purification sachets etc.
Providing short and medium-term WatSan and Log support to the projects within the Nigeria Mission which includes regular WatSan activities as well as the achievement of specific objectives e.g. supervision of a latrine construction or participation in IRS campaign etc.
- Preparation of monthly SitReps
- Monitoring maintenance activities of infrastructure and follow rehabilitation and construction project
- Management of non-medical materials and equipment, participate to supply processes
Supervising and following up orders which includes collecting logistics orders coming from different departments or BEmONC facilities and other services; drawing up and following up orders according to the procedures; providing technical support to the storekeeper and purchaser as requested.
Requirements
Education:
Essential: Technical Diploma
Desirable: Specialisation in water and sanitation.
Experience:
- Previous experience in technical works and organising of multiple activities, preferably within MSF or similar work environment.
Languages
Essential: Mission language English
Desirable: Local language Hausa.

Remuneration
- According to MSF salary scale plus 13th month allowance equivalent to 1 month of gross salary.
